ADULTS

As children, many of us had dreams of what adulthood would be like. Maybe for you, it was getting married and starting a family; having a great job that you felt happy and successful in; being surrounded by amazing friends and doing things you loved to do. Maybe some or all of the above.

However, somewhere along the way, life took a different path and your childhood vision does not match your current reality:

·         You don’t feel fulfilled at your job

·         Romantic relationships have been challenging, unsatisfying, or non-existent

·         Relationships with family and friends have felt frustrating or disheartening

·         You feel isolated, and are finding it difficult to know how to make new friends

·         You often feel overwhelmed, down, or worried

·         Family life has been difficult to navigate, and you are losing yourself in the process

·         You’re feeling stuck and unsure of how to move forward

·         You don’t feel confident in yourself or your capabilities

·         You’re struggling to find meaning or purpose

It can be easy to get derailed along the way. As young children, we don’t anticipate what life will throw our way. Events happen that necessitate grieving, reworking of plans, and examination of ourselves and those around us. We may not even be able to pinpoint what has caused us to go off track, but we know the feeling of stress, overwhelm, anxiety, sadness, or numbness.

When we are going through our days on autopilot, just trying to survive, it can be hard to do the deeper work to begin to understand what got us here and how to make change. Our longstanding beliefs and patterns, attachment wounds, tools for coping, challenges around boundary-setting and making ourselves a priority, and fears around change or putting ourselves out there can contribute to a sense of feeling blocked, or a general lack of contentment.

How I Can Help

I can help by creating the space to begin to examine some of those beliefs, patterns, and attachment wounds you have formed through your upbringing and later experiences that have held you back from achieving the relationships, career, self-confidence, and overall sense of well-being you once envisioned for yourself. We will also begin fine tune the details of your vision to be a better representation of your adult self, honoring the challenges that have arisen along your journey, and paving the way for a new path that feels authentic to you. Moreover, we will build upon those strengths and tools you already have to manage the inevitable challenges that life can throw your way.

It can be scary letting go of those old ways of being and doing that have once helped you survive. But know that you are not alone – I will be there to help support you through every step of the way. And on the other side, a greater sense of meaning, purpose, self-love, joy, balance, and connection awaits. Let’s begin on this journey together to bring that dream of a gratifying adulthood back to life.
